223,437 words | ISBN-10: 8171101519

The Sanskrit edition of the Yoga-vasistha including English translation and grammatical analysis. The Yogavasistha is a Hindu spiritual text written by Valmiki (who also authored the Ramayana) dealing with the philosophical topics from the Advaita-vedanta school. Chronologically it precedes the Ramayana.

Verse 1.28.24

स्वदन्ते तावदेवैते भावा जगति धीमते ।
यावत्स्मृतिपथं याति न विनाशकुराक्षसः ॥ २४ ॥

svadante tāvadevaite bhāvā jagati dhīmate |
yāvatsmṛtipathaṃ yāti na vināśakurākṣasaḥ || 24 ||

All these are so long delightful to a sensible man, as the monster of death does not appear before the eye of his mind.
