The Sanskrit edition of the Yoga-vasistha including English translation and grammatical analysis. The Yogavasistha is a Hindu spiritual text written by Valmiki (who also authored the Ramayana) dealing with the philosophical topics from the Advaita-vedanta school. Chronologically it precedes the Ramayana.

मरणावसरे काया जीवं नानुसरन्ति ये ।
तेषु तात कृतघ्नेषु कैवास्था वद धीमताम् ॥ ३९ ॥

maraṇāvasare kāyā jīvaṃ nānusaranti ye |
teṣu tāta kṛtaghneṣu kaivāsthā vada dhīmatām || 39 ||

The body does not follow the soul upon death; tell me Sir, what regard should the learned have for such an ungrateful thing as this.
