The Sanskrit edition of the Yoga-vasistha including English translation and grammatical analysis. The Yogavasistha is a Hindu spiritual text written by Valmiki (who also authored the Ramayana) dealing with the philosophical topics from the Advaita-vedanta school. Chronologically it precedes the Ramayana.

चेतः पतति कार्येषु विहगः स्वामिषेष्विव ।
क्षणेन विरतिं याति बालः क्रीडनकादिव ॥ २२ ॥

cetaḥ patati kāryeṣu vihagaḥ svāmiṣeṣviva |
kṣaṇena viratiṃ yāti bālaḥ krīḍanakādiva || 22 ||

The mind is attracted to its objects as a bird to its prey, and has no respite for a moment as a boy from his play.
