Consisting of 18 books, the Mahabharata details the history and legends concerning ancient India (Bharata), including a major battle campaign involving the Kauravas and the Pandavas, also known as the Kurukshetra War. यद्दुर्लभं हि लोकेऽस्मिन्रत्नमत्यद्भुतं भवेत् ।
तदानयेयं तपसा न हि मेऽत्रास्ति संशयः ॥ २६ ॥

yaddurlabhaṃ hi loke'sminratnamatyadbhutaṃ bhavet |
tadānayeyaṃ tapasā na hi me'trāsti saṃśayaḥ || 26 ||
