Consisting of 18 books, the Mahabharata details the history and legends concerning ancient India (Bharata), including a major battle campaign involving the Kauravas and the Pandavas, also known as the Kurukshetra War. किं त्वद्य यदि ते श्रद्धा गमनं प्रति भार्गव ।
अनुज्ञां गृह्य मत्तस्त्वं गृहान्गच्छस्व मा चिरम् ॥ १९ ॥

kiṃ tvadya yadi te śraddhā gamanaṃ prati bhārgava |
anujñāṃ gṛhya mattastvaṃ gṛhāngacchasva mā ciram || 19 ||
