Consisting of 18 books, the Mahabharata details the history and legends concerning ancient India (Bharata), including a major battle campaign involving the Kauravas and the Pandavas, also known as the Kurukshetra War. ततो राजा जातरूपस्य राशीन्पदे पदे कारयामास हृष्टः ।
द्विजातिभ्यो विसृजन्भूरि वित्तं रराज वित्तेश इवारिहन्ता ॥ ३३ ॥

tato rājā jātarūpasya rāśīnpade pade kārayāmāsa hṛṣṭaḥ |
