Consisting of 18 books, the Mahabharata details the history and legends concerning ancient India (Bharata), including a major battle campaign involving the Kauravas and the Pandavas, also known as the Kurukshetra War. स शरैः सर्वतो विद्धः प्रहृष्ट इव पाण्डवः ।
अन्यत्कार्मुकमादाय रथमारुह्य वीर्यवान् ।
अतिष्ठत रणे वीरः क्रुद्धरूप इवान्तकः ॥ २४ ॥

anyatkārmukamādāya rathamāruhya vīryavān |
