अथ गर्गो ज्ञानि-वरो
ज्ञान-दो मुनि-सत्तमः
कालिन्दी-तीर-शोभाढ्यं
वृषभानु-पुरं गतः
atha gargo jñāni-varo
jñāna-do muni-sattamaḥ
kālindī-tīra-śobhāḍhyaṃ
vṛṣabhānu-puraṃ gataḥ
atha—then; gargaḥ—Garga; jñāni-varaḥ—the best of philosophers; jñāna-daḥ—great teacher; muni-sattamaḥ—great sage; kālindī-tīra—on the sdhore of the Yamunā; śobha-āḍhyam—beautiful; vṛṣabhānu-puram—to the palace of King Vṛṣabhānu; gataḥ—went.
English translation of verse 1.15.40:
Then the great philosopher, teacher, sage Garga Muni went to King Vṛṣabhānu's beautiful palace on the Yamunā's shore.
