The Sanskrit edition of the Apastamba Grihya-sutra with the commentaries of Haradatta (called the Anakula-vritti) and Sudarshana (called the Grihyatatparyadarshana-vyakhya). The Apastamba Grihyasutra is a short treatise on Vedic rituals which, together with the Hiranyakeshin-grihya-sutra, belongs to the Taittiriya School of the Black Yajur-Veda. (yena śabdena yeṣu sthāneṣu yena krameṇāvāhanaṃ coditaṃ taddevatākānyardhyāṇi prayacchati) /
pṛthakpātraiḥ kalpitāni ārdhyatvāt puṣpākṣataissaṃyuktāni /
īsānedaṃ te arghyam, jayantedaṃ te arghyamiti /
tato gandhapuṣpaghūpadīpairabhyarcya tataḥ sthālīpākāduddhṛtya trīnodanān kalpayati triṣu pātreṣu devyai skandāya ca devāya homārtha upahārārtha ca /
sthālyāṃ ca bhūyāṃsamodanama- vaśinaṣṭi brāhmaṇabhojanārtham /

tatastānodanānagnisamīpamānīyyāpageṇāgniṃ barhiṣi pratiṣṭhāpayati dakṣiṇata uttaratomadhye ca /
atra pratiṣṭhi- tābhighāraṇamū /
tata uttarairmantraistribhiryathoḍhaṃ trīnodanānupasparśayati /
svasvāmisambandhaṃ kārayati /
uttarairmantraiḥ'upaspṛśatu mīḍhvān'ityādibhiḥ /

yathādevatamabhimṛśati'idamagnerityāgneya'mitivat /
evamupasparśayitvā tata uttarairmantraissaptadaśabhiḥ pradhānāhutīrjuhoti yathāsvamodanebhyaḥ

yenaudanena yasyai devatāyai tvatvasambandha upasparśanenopalakṣitaḥ tasmāt tasya juhotītyarthaḥ /
tatra bhavāya devāye'tyādibhiraṣṭābhiḥ devasyaudanāt /

'bhavasya devasya patnyai svāhe'tyaṣṭābhiḥ mīḍhuṣyāḥ /
'jayantāya svāhe'ti jayanātasya /
evaṃ pradhānāhutīrhutvā tatas sarvataḥ samavādāyottareṇa yajuṣāva' agnaye sviṣṭakṛte suhuta'ityanenāgniṃ sviṣṭakṛtaṃ yajati /
sarvatassamava- dāye ttyucyate yathā svamodanebhyaḥ pṛthakpṛthak sviṣṭakṛnmābhūditi /

atha yatheḍhaṃ yena krameṇoḍhā āvāhitāstena krameṇa /
vaudakāni
pādyādīni pratyekaṃ svaissvairnāmabhirnamontaiḥ pradadāti prakarṣeṇa bhaktipurassaraṃ dadāti /
udakagrahaṇasya pradarśanārthatvāt dīpāntaṃ pradadātītyupadeśaḥ /
atheśānasthālīpākāduddhṛtya trīnādenān triṣu pātreṣu kalpayati īśānamīḍhuṣījayantebhyo homārtham balyarthaḍhca /
sthālyāṃ ca brāhmaṇānāṃ bhojanānārtha bhūyāṃsamodanamavaśinaṣṭi /

tatastānodanānagnessamīpamānīya apareṇāgniṃ pratiṣṭhāpayati /
athaitānuttaraistribhirmantraiḥ'upaspṛśatu mīḍhvān'ityādibhiryathāsaṅkhyaṃ yathādevatamupasparśayati /
asya copasparśanavidherdvitīyatṛtīyayorodanayorapanīteśānadevatākayormīḍhuṣījayantākhyadevatāntarasambandhavijñāne tātparyam, abyudayeṣṭyādivat /
prathame tvīśānasambandhasthāpane mīḍhvacchabdasyeśānavācakatvāt /
athottarairmantraiḥ'bhavāya devāya'; ityādibhissaptadaśabhiḥ yathāsvamodanebhyaḥ yo ya odano yasyā yasyā devatāyāssvabhūtastasmāttasmādyathāliṅgaṃ pārvaṇavadānadharmeṇāvadā- ya pradhānāhutīrjuhoti /
tatra'bhavāye'tyaṣṭabhirīśānasyaudanāt /
yuktaṃ caitat bhavaśarvādiśabdānāṃ īsānavācakatvāditi /
'bhavasya devasye'tyaṣṭābhistu mīḍhuṣyāssvāt /
'jayantāye'ti jayantasya svāt /
tatassarvatassarvebhyastribhya odanebhyaḥ sviṣṭakṛto'vadānadharmeṇa samavadāya sahvadāya uttareṇa yajuṣā'agnaye sviṣṭakṛte suhuta huta'ityanenāgniṃ sviṣṭakṛtaṃ juhoti /
ataḥ sarvatassamavadāyeti vacanaṃ āgrayaṇamāsiśrāddhādivat sakṛdevāvadāya sviṣṭakṛditi śahkānirāsārtham //4//
