The Sanskrit edition of the Apastamba Grihya-sutra with the commentaries of Haradatta (called the Anakula-vritti) and Sudarshana (called the Grihyatatparyadarshana-vyakhya). The Apastamba Grihyasutra is a short treatise on Vedic rituals which, together with the Hiranyakeshin-grihya-sutra, belongs to the Taittiriya School of the Black Yajur-Veda. gacchatastān varānanantaramāmnātasya mantrasamāmnāyasyādito dvābhyāṃ ṛgbhyāṃ paprasugmantetyotābhyāṃ abhimantrayeta /
abhilakṣya mantroccāraṇamabhimantraṇam /
tataste kanyākulaṃ gatvā-evaṃgotrāyāmuṣmai sahatvakarmabhyo yuṣmadīyāṃ kanyāṃ vṛṇīmaha-iti brūyaḥ /
tataste pratibrūyuḥ-śobhanaṃ tathā dāsyāma-iti /
tatra brāhme vivāhe daive cārthalopāt varaṇalopaḥ kalpāntaradarśanācca-nātra varān prahiṇuyāditi /

Sudarśana’s Gṛhyatātparyadarśana-vyākhyā (sūtra 4.2)

tān prasthitān /
mantrasamāmnāya syāditaḥ 'prasugmantā'iti dvābhyāṃ ṛgbhyāṃ abhimantrayeta /
abhimantraṇaṃ ābhimukhyena mantrasyoccāraṇam /
anumantramapyevam'anumantrayitavyadravyagatacitteneti tu bhedaḥ //


atha sūtrasyāpūrṇatvāt krama ucyate-

kṛtaprāṇāyāmo'varān preṣayiṣye'iti saṅkalpya,'prasugmamte'ti dvābhyāṃ varānabhimantrya,'yūyamamuṣmāt kulāt mahyaṃ kanyāṃ vṛṇīdhvam'iti preṣayet /
tataste duhitṛmato gṛhaṃ gatvā, kanyāṃ dattasagotratvādidoṣarahitāṃ bandhvādiguṇasampannāṃ ca yatnato'vadhārya, duhitṛmantaṃ pitrīdikaṃ'gautamagotrāya viṣṇuśarmaṇe varāya bhavadīyāṃ kanyāṃ prajāsahatvakarmabhyo vṛṇīmahe'iti brūyuḥ /
tatassa pitrādir'dāsyāmī'ti pratibrūyāt /

tataste pratyetya,'suddhārtā vaya'miti varāyā vedayeyuḥ /
etacca varapreṣaṇādyāsurārṣayoreva, nānyeṣu arthalopāt /

atha yasminnahani vivāhaḥ tataḥ pūrvameva pañcame tṛtīya vāhani yathāśiṣṭācāramaṅkurāropaṇaṃ kuryāt /
tathā śvo vivāha ityadya vivāha iti ca /

'tathā maṅgalāni''āvṛtaścāstrībhyaḥ pratīyerat'(āpa.gṛ.2-14,15) ityuktāni karmāṇi varo vadhūśca yathākālaṃ yathāyogyaṃkurutaḥ /

kecit-pūrvedyurnāndīśrāddhaṃ kalpāntarāditi /

tataḥ pitrādirvadhūkulaṃ prāptāya varāya kanyāmudakapūrva dadyāt-imāṃ vatsarotrajāṃ lakṣmīdāyīṃ gautamagotrāya viṣṇuśarmaṇe tapabhyaṃ prajāsahatvakarmabhyaḥ pratipādayāmīti /
gāndharvarākṣasayostu na pratipādanam, dātṛvyāpārā napekṣatvāt /
tatastāṃ varaḥ pratigṛhya vivāhasthāne'yatra kvacāgnim'(āpa.dha.2-1-13) ityādividhināgniṃ pratiṣṭhāpya, tatraiva yasyāṃ śālāyāṃ kanyā'ste tāṃ gatvā madhuparka pratigṛhṇāti yathārha yathāvidhi /
