This is the Sanskrit Mahavastu: a lengthy work on Buddhist teachings and narratives belonging to the school of early Buddhism (Mahasanghika). This edition only includes those metrical verses occuring in the various stories and Jatakas, as well as the corresponding English translation by J. J. Jones.

Verse 53.62

वाता प्रवान्ति कष्टं शकुना प्रव्याहरन्ति च खराणि ।
हृदयं च व्युत्थस्थानो सर्वो च अनिर्वृतो कायो ॥ ६२ ॥

vātā pravānti kaṣṭaṃ śakunā pravyāharanti ca kharāṇi |
hṛdayaṃ ca vyutthasthāno sarvo ca anirvṛto kāyo || 62 ||

“The winds bear evil tidings. There is a dire note in the cries of the birds. My heart leaps from its wonted place, and my whole body is ill at ease.” (62)
