The Sanskrit edition of the Yoga-vasistha including English translation and grammatical analysis. The Yogavasistha is a Hindu spiritual text written by Valmiki (who also authored the Ramayana) dealing with the philosophical topics from the Advaita-vedanta school. Chronologically it precedes the Ramayana.

श्रीराम उवाच ।
जगत्सूक्ष्मेण रूपेण महाप्रलय आगते ।
आस्ते ब्रह्मणि तत्तस्मात्पुनरेव प्रवर्तते ॥ १८ ॥

śrīrāma uvāca |
jagatsūkṣmeṇa rūpeṇa mahāpralaya āgate |
āste brahmaṇi tattasmātpunareva pravartate || 18 ||

Rama replied:—Why sir, the world existed in its subtile (or ideal) state, in the person (mind) of Brahma (God); from which it issued forth anew and again, after dissolution of the former creation.
