The Sanskrit edition of the Yoga-vasistha including English translation and grammatical analysis. The Yogavasistha is a Hindu spiritual text written by Valmiki (who also authored the Ramayana) dealing with the philosophical topics from the Advaita-vedanta school. Chronologically it precedes the Ramayana.

श्रीराम उवाच ।
अहं त्वमयमित्यादिजगज्जठरमप्यलम् ।
कथं न जातं भगवन्सर्गादावनुभूतिमत् ॥ १४ ॥

śrīrāma uvāca |
ahaṃ tvamayamityādijagajjaṭharamapyalam |
kathaṃ na jātaṃ bhagavansargādāvanubhūtimat || 14 ||

Rama rejoined:—If our knowledge of I and thou and of this and that, is as false as that of all other things in the womb of the world; why then were these brought into existence, not left to remain in their ideas in the mind of their creator, as they had existed before his creation of them?
