The Sanskrit edition of the Yoga-vasistha including English translation and grammatical analysis. The Yogavasistha is a Hindu spiritual text written by Valmiki (who also authored the Ramayana) dealing with the philosophical topics from the Advaita-vedanta school. Chronologically it precedes the Ramayana.

केवलं शून्यमेवाति तदरण्यमनन्तकम् ।
तापोपतप्तमभितो भूमौ स्थितमिवाम्बरम् ॥ १९ ॥

kevalaṃ śūnyamevāti tadaraṇyamanantakam |
tāpopataptamabhito bhūmau sthitamivāmbaram || 19 ||

It was only a vast desert, all void and devoid of bounds; an unlimited space of burning heat, and appeared as the blank expanse of the sky, had fallen down on the ground below.
