223,437 words | ISBN-10: 8171101519

The Sanskrit edition of the Yoga-vasistha including English translation and grammatical analysis. The Yogavasistha is a Hindu spiritual text written by Valmiki (who also authored the Ramayana) dealing with the philosophical topics from the Advaita-vedanta school. Chronologically it precedes the Ramayana.

Verse 7.175.55

अन्यथानुपपत्त्यार्थकारणाभावतः स्वतः ।
चिद्व्योमात्मानमेवादौ दृश्यमित्येव पश्यति ॥ ५५ ॥

anyathānupapattyārthakāraṇābhāvataḥ svataḥ |
cidvyomātmānamevādau dṛśyamityeva paśyati || 55 ||

From the impossibility of the appearance of the world, by any means as it is conjectured by different schools, and from its want of a prior cause; it must be that the intellect saw itself thus exhibited in its own vacuity.
