The Sanskrit edition of the Yoga-vasistha including English translation and grammatical analysis. The Yogavasistha is a Hindu spiritual text written by Valmiki (who also authored the Ramayana) dealing with the philosophical topics from the Advaita-vedanta school. Chronologically it precedes the Ramayana.

देशाद्देशान्तरप्राप्तौ विद्धि मध्यमसंविदः ।
जगदित्यपरं नाम स्वरूपादच्युतात्मनः ॥ २३ ॥

deśāddeśāntaraprāptau viddhi madhyamasaṃvidaḥ |
jagadityaparaṃ nāma svarūpādacyutātmanaḥ || 23 ||

The Divine spirit never changes from its state of calm repose, and vacant mindedness, as that of a traveller in the interval of his journey from one place to another. Such is the state of this world which is ever calm and quiet.
