223,437 words | ISBN-10: 8171101519

The Sanskrit edition of the Yoga-vasistha including English translation and grammatical analysis. The Yogavasistha is a Hindu spiritual text written by Valmiki (who also authored the Ramayana) dealing with the philosophical topics from the Advaita-vedanta school. Chronologically it precedes the Ramayana.

Verse 7.163.19

अनाकारं यथा वारि क्षीणं वहति नो पुनः ।
अकारणं तथा दृश्यं ज्ञानच्छिन्नं न रोहति ॥ १९ ॥

anākāraṃ yathā vāri kṣīṇaṃ vahati no punaḥ |
akāraṇaṃ tathā dṛśyaṃ jñānacchinnaṃ na rohati || 19 ||

As the dried up waters of a river, are seen no more to glide even slightly in their course; so the formless phenomenals of the world, never appear in the sight of the wise, nor leave their slightest vestiges behind in their mind.
