The Sanskrit edition of the Yoga-vasistha including English translation and grammatical analysis. The Yogavasistha is a Hindu spiritual text written by Valmiki (who also authored the Ramayana) dealing with the philosophical topics from the Advaita-vedanta school. Chronologically it precedes the Ramayana.

यावद्यावत्परिज्ञानं पण्डितस्य प्रवर्तते ।
तावत्तावत्तदैवास्य कर्म शाम्यति बन्धनम् ॥ ४४ ॥

yāvadyāvatparijñānaṃ paṇḍitasya pravartate |
tāvattāvattadaivāsya karma śāmyati bandhanam || 44 ||

Know the outward acts of faith, to proceed from ignorance of the universe; but as the wise man advances in his knowledge, he extricates himself from the bondage of all religions and ceremonial acts and observances.
