The Sanskrit edition of the Yoga-vasistha including English translation and grammatical analysis. The Yogavasistha is a Hindu spiritual text written by Valmiki (who also authored the Ramayana) dealing with the philosophical topics from the Advaita-vedanta school. Chronologically it precedes the Ramayana.

व्याध उवाच ।
असदेतद्यदि विभो स्वप्नसंभ्रममात्रकम् ।
कथितेन तदैतेन कोऽर्थः कल्याणकोविद ॥ ८ ॥

vyādha uvāca |
asadetadyadi vibho svapnasaṃbhramamātrakam |
kathitena tadaitena ko'rthaḥ kalyāṇakovida || 8 ||

The forester responded said:—Sir, if the dream is a mere falsity and error of imagination; then what was the good of your relating all this, that know well what is good and useful for mankind.
