The Sanskrit edition of the Yoga-vasistha including English translation and grammatical analysis. The Yogavasistha is a Hindu spiritual text written by Valmiki (who also authored the Ramayana) dealing with the philosophical topics from the Advaita-vedanta school. Chronologically it precedes the Ramayana.

यावदाश्वसिमि क्षिप्रं डिण्डीरे चाद्रिखण्डके ।
तावदेत्य हतो वेगाद्वैरिणेवातिवारिणा ॥ ४० ॥

yāvadāśvasimi kṣipraṃ ḍiṇḍīre cādrikhaṇḍake |
tāvadetya hato vegādvairiṇevātivāriṇā || 40 ||

As I was halting on a hill covered with foam and froth; immediately I was run over by a rush of water, as a man is overtaken by his enemy.
