The Sanskrit edition of the Yoga-vasistha including English translation and grammatical analysis. The Yogavasistha is a Hindu spiritual text written by Valmiki (who also authored the Ramayana) dealing with the philosophical topics from the Advaita-vedanta school. Chronologically it precedes the Ramayana.

चेतनं नाम पुरुषः स मृतेषु शतेष्वपि ।
शरीरेषु महाबुद्धे कथं कस्य कदा मृतः ॥ ३९ ॥

cetanaṃ nāma puruṣaḥ sa mṛteṣu śateṣvapi |
śarīreṣu mahābuddhe kathaṃ kasya kadā mṛtaḥ || 39 ||

Even our death is a dream, which continues with our intellect even after our death; because the intellect which resides in the body, does not die even in a hundred deaths of the body; for who has ever heard of the death of the soul (which is same with intellect) of any body.
