The Sanskrit edition of the Yoga-vasistha including English translation and grammatical analysis. The Yogavasistha is a Hindu spiritual text written by Valmiki (who also authored the Ramayana) dealing with the philosophical topics from the Advaita-vedanta school. Chronologically it precedes the Ramayana.

Verse 7.136.32

भ्रान्तः किमिदमादीर्घदुःखाय धनुषा मृगान् ।
हंसि पासि न कस्मात्त्वं तन्त्रं जगति भङ्गुरे ॥ ३२ ॥

bhrāntaḥ kimidamādīrghaduḥkhāya dhanuṣā mṛgān |
haṃsi pāsi na kasmāttvaṃ tantraṃ jagati bhaṅgure || 32 ||

The muni said:—O erring man! why did you roam so long, afflicting the innocent deer with your arrows; why do [you] not rather protect them, and observe the law of universal benevolence in this transitory world?
