The Sanskrit edition of the Yoga-vasistha including English translation and grammatical analysis. The Yogavasistha is a Hindu spiritual text written by Valmiki (who also authored the Ramayana) dealing with the philosophical topics from the Advaita-vedanta school. Chronologically it precedes the Ramayana.

विपश्चिदुवाच ।
एतस्मिन्नन्तरे व्योम्नः स पतन्पुरुषो मया ।
स्थमिताखिलभूपीठः शवरूपो विलोकितः ॥ १ ॥

etasminnantare vyomnaḥ sa patanpuruṣo mayā |
sthamitākhilabhūpīṭhaḥ śavarūpo vilokitaḥ || 1 ||

Vipaschit continued:—All this time I was looking at the carcass, that had fallen from above, and covered the whole surface of the earth under it.
