The Sanskrit edition of the Yoga-vasistha including English translation and grammatical analysis. The Yogavasistha is a Hindu spiritual text written by Valmiki (who also authored the Ramayana) dealing with the philosophical topics from the Advaita-vedanta school. Chronologically it precedes the Ramayana.

Verse 7.110.45

तैरुदारैः समाक्रान्तं ये मृत्योरपि मृत्यवः ।
मरणं जीवितं येषां जीवितं मरणं रणे ॥ ४५ ॥

tairudāraiḥ samākrāntaṃ ye mṛtyorapi mṛtyavaḥ |
maraṇaṃ jīvitaṃ yeṣāṃ jīvitaṃ maraṇaṃ raṇe || 45 ||

The brave men that boldly expose their lives in battle, enjoy a lasting life by their death in warfare, and die in their living state, by their flight from the field.
