The Sanskrit edition of the Yoga-vasistha including English translation and grammatical analysis. The Yogavasistha is a Hindu spiritual text written by Valmiki (who also authored the Ramayana) dealing with the philosophical topics from the Advaita-vedanta school. Chronologically it precedes the Ramayana.

इतिहासमयावेव जाग्रत्स्वप्नावुभावपि ।
परस्परं गतावेतावुपमानोपमेयताम् ॥ ३१ ॥

itihāsamayāveva jāgratsvapnāvubhāvapi |
parasparaṃ gatāvetāvupamānopameyatām || 31 ||

Our waking and sleeping, are both as events of history to us; and are comparable to the past and present histories of nations.
