The Sanskrit edition of the Yoga-vasistha including English translation and grammatical analysis. The Yogavasistha is a Hindu spiritual text written by Valmiki (who also authored the Ramayana) dealing with the philosophical topics from the Advaita-vedanta school. Chronologically it precedes the Ramayana.

Verse 7.72.12

श्रीवसिष्ठ उवाच ।
आदौ तावदिदं नासन्न सदास्ते निरामयम् ।
चिन्मात्रपरमाकाशमाशाकोशैकपूरकम् ॥ १२ ॥

śrīvasiṣṭha uvāca |
ādau tāvadidaṃ nāsanna sadāste nirāmayam |
cinmātraparamākāśamāśākośaikapūrakam || 12 ||

Vasishtha replied:—In the beginning this world was not in existence, nor inexistence either; because there was the eternal Intellect, which engrossed all infinity in itself, and the whole vacuity of space with its essence.
