The Sanskrit edition of the Yoga-vasistha including English translation and grammatical analysis. The Yogavasistha is a Hindu spiritual text written by Valmiki (who also authored the Ramayana) dealing with the philosophical topics from the Advaita-vedanta school. Chronologically it precedes the Ramayana.

पुराणपुरुषो बद्धो द्विजस्तत्रास्ति मे पतिः ।
एकस्थानान्न चलति जीवन्युगशतान्यसौ ॥ ४१ ॥

purāṇapuruṣo baddho dvijastatrāsti me patiḥ |
ekasthānānna calati jīvanyugaśatānyasau || 41 ||

The ancient personage (purusha) of my twice-born husband, is there confined in his dungeon (of the body); and though he has remained there for many an age, yet he has never removed from his single seat.
