The Sanskrit edition of the Yoga-vasistha including English translation and grammatical analysis. The Yogavasistha is a Hindu spiritual text written by Valmiki (who also authored the Ramayana) dealing with the philosophical topics from the Advaita-vedanta school. Chronologically it precedes the Ramayana.

Verse 7.2.18

मृद्व्यो मसृणतीक्ष्णाग्रा वृत्ता रूढाः पुनःपुनः ।
द्वितीयेन्दुकलाकाराः कलिका नखपङ्क्तयः ॥ १८ ॥

mṛdvyo masṛṇatīkṣṇāgrā vṛttā rūḍhāḥ punaḥpunaḥ |
dvitīyendukalākārāḥ kalikā nakhapaṅktayaḥ || 18 ||

The soft and shining nails, which are set in rows with their rounded forms and sharpened ends, are like the moon-bright buds of flowers with their painted heads.
