The Sanskrit edition of the Yoga-vasistha including English translation and grammatical analysis. The Yogavasistha is a Hindu spiritual text written by Valmiki (who also authored the Ramayana) dealing with the philosophical topics from the Advaita-vedanta school. Chronologically it precedes the Ramayana.

Verse 6.124.24

या स्वच्छा समता शान्ता जीवन्मुक्तव्यवस्थितिः ।
साक्ष्यवस्था व्यवहृतौ सा तुर्यकलनोच्यते ॥ २४ ॥

yā svacchā samatā śāntā jīvanmuktavyavasthitiḥ |
sākṣyavasthā vyavahṛtau sā turyakalanocyate || 24 ||

It is that state in which the selfish feelings of mine and thine, are altogether wanting; and in which one remains as a mere witness and spectator of the affairs of life. This is the turya state of living liberation.
