The Sanskrit edition of the Yoga-vasistha including English translation and grammatical analysis. The Yogavasistha is a Hindu spiritual text written by Valmiki (who also authored the Ramayana) dealing with the philosophical topics from the Advaita-vedanta school. Chronologically it precedes the Ramayana.

Verse 6.124.25

नैतज्जाग्रन्न च स्वप्नं संकल्पानामसंभवात् ।
सुषुप्तभावो नाप्येतदभावाज्जडता स्थितेः ॥ २५ ॥

naitajjāgranna ca svapnaṃ saṃkalpānāmasaṃbhavāt |
suṣuptabhāvo nāpyetadabhāvājjaḍatā sthiteḥ || 25 ||

This is neither the state of waking, owing to its want of any wish or concern, nor it is the state of sound sleep, which is one of perfect insensibility.
