The Sanskrit edition of the Yoga-vasistha including English translation and grammatical analysis. The Yogavasistha is a Hindu spiritual text written by Valmiki (who also authored the Ramayana) dealing with the philosophical topics from the Advaita-vedanta school. Chronologically it precedes the Ramayana.

Verse 6.98.18

अप्रबुद्धैरवगतं चित्तं दृश्यमिदं जगत् ।
असच्चित्तं निराकारं पूर्वमुत्पन्नमेव नो ॥ १८ ॥

aprabuddhairavagataṃ cittaṃ dṛśyamidaṃ jagat |
asaccittaṃ nirākāraṃ pūrvamutpannameva no || 18 ||

The ignorant believe that this visible world is the mind, (because it is the display of the divine mind and the mind dwells upon it); but the unreal and formless mind had not this visible form, before it developed itself in the form of creation.
