The Sanskrit edition of the Yoga-vasistha including English translation and grammatical analysis. The Yogavasistha is a Hindu spiritual text written by Valmiki (who also authored the Ramayana) dealing with the philosophical topics from the Advaita-vedanta school. Chronologically it precedes the Ramayana.

Verse 6.17.1

श्रीवसिष्ठ उवाच ।
अथ राम भुशुण्डोऽसौ न प्रहृष्टो न वक्रधीः ।
सर्वाङ्गसुन्दरः श्यामः प्रावृषीव पयोधरः ॥ १ ॥

śrīvasiṣṭha uvāca |
atha rāma bhuśuṇḍo'sau na prahṛṣṭo na vakradhīḥ |
sarvāṅgasundaraḥ śyāmaḥ prāvṛṣīva payodharaḥ || 1 ||

Vasishtha said:—Now Rama, know this Bhusunda, who was of a complexion as black as that of a cloud heavy with water in the rainy season;to have a countenance which neither merry nor sorry, and a mind free from guile and cunning.
