The Sanskrit edition of the Yoga-vasistha including English translation and grammatical analysis. The Yogavasistha is a Hindu spiritual text written by Valmiki (who also authored the Ramayana) dealing with the philosophical topics from the Advaita-vedanta school. Chronologically it precedes the Ramayana.

अस्पृष्टेन जनैर्भुक्तं कुकलत्रवता मया ।
गृहीततेजःक्षतये बहुवक्रविकारिणा ॥ २१ ॥

aspṛṣṭena janairbhuktaṃ kukalatravatā mayā |
gṛhītatejaḥkṣataye bahuvakravikāriṇā || 21 ||

I took my food apart and untouched by any body, for fear of being polluted by the touch of a vile and base born family; and because the pungency of my unsavoury diet, made my mouth wry at every morsel.
