Yoga Vasistha [sanskrit]

223,437 words | ISBN-10: 8171101519

The Sanskrit edition of the Yoga-vasistha including English translation and grammatical analysis. The Yogavasistha is a Hindu spiritual text written by Valmiki (who also authored the Ramayana) dealing with the philosophical topics from the Advaita-vedanta school. Chronologically it precedes the Ramayana.

Verse 3.91.40

स्वमेवान्यतया दृष्ट्वा चितिर्दृश्यतया वपुः ।
निर्भागाप्येकभागाभं भ्रमतीव भ्रमातुरा ॥ ४० ॥

svamevānyatayā dṛṣṭvā citirdṛśyatayā vapuḥ |
nirbhāgāpyekabhāgābhaṃ bhramatīva bhramāturā || 40 ||

Thus it is by intellection of itself as the other form, that the noumenal assumes the shape of the phenomenal world; and being indivisible in itself, it wanders through the labyrinth of errors with its other part of the mind.
