Yoga Vasistha [sanskrit]

223,437 words | ISBN-10: 8171101519

The Sanskrit edition of the Yoga-vasistha including English translation and grammatical analysis. The Yogavasistha is a Hindu spiritual text written by Valmiki (who also authored the Ramayana) dealing with the philosophical topics from the Advaita-vedanta school. Chronologically it precedes the Ramayana.

Verse 3.84.25

अविबोधादयं वादो ज्ञाते द्वैतं न विद्यते ।
ज्ञाते संशान्तकलनं मौनमेवावशिष्यते ॥ २५ ॥

avibodhādayaṃ vādo jñāte dvaitaṃ na vidyate |
jñāte saṃśāntakalanaṃ maunamevāvaśiṣyate || 25 ||

These sensible terms and figurative expressions, are used for the guidance of the ignorant; but the knowing few, are far from falling into the fallacy of dualism. All sensible conceptions ceasing upon the spiritual perception of God, there ensues an utter and dumb silence.
