The Sanskrit edition of the Yoga-vasistha including English translation and grammatical analysis. The Yogavasistha is a Hindu spiritual text written by Valmiki (who also authored the Ramayana) dealing with the philosophical topics from the Advaita-vedanta school. Chronologically it precedes the Ramayana.

राक्षस्योक्तं महाप्रश्नजालमावलिताखिलम् ॥ १ ॥

śrīvasiṣṭha uvāca |
atraivodāharantīmamitihāsaṃ purātanam |
rākṣasyoktaṃ mahāpraśnajālamāvalitākhilam || 1 ||

Vasishtha said:—Hear me relate to you, Rama! an old anecdote bearing upon this subject, and relating to a difficult proposition adduced by the Rakshasi for solution.
