The Sanskrit edition of the Yoga-vasistha including English translation and grammatical analysis. The Yogavasistha is a Hindu spiritual text written by Valmiki (who also authored the Ramayana) dealing with the philosophical topics from the Advaita-vedanta school. Chronologically it precedes the Ramayana.

श्रीराम उवाच ।
अहो चित्रं जगदिदमसत्सदिव भासते ।
अहो बृहदहो स्वस्थमहो स्फुटमहो तनु ॥ ३७ ॥

śrīrāma uvāca |
aho citraṃ jagadidamasatsadiva bhāsate |
aho bṛhadaho svasthamaho sphuṭamaho tanu || 37 ||

The universal soul is the source, and not the substance of all these vast masses of worlds; just as the seed is the embryo, and not the matter of the trees and plants and their fruits and flowers that grow from the same.
