The Sanskrit edition of the Yoga-vasistha including English translation and grammatical analysis. The Yogavasistha is a Hindu spiritual text written by Valmiki (who also authored the Ramayana) dealing with the philosophical topics from the Advaita-vedanta school. Chronologically it precedes the Ramayana.

Verse 3.50.44

जङ्घयोर्मे पतिश्छिन्नः क्रकचेनेव पादपः ।
हा हा हतास्मि दग्धास्मि मृतास्म्युपहतास्मि च ॥ ४४ ॥

jaṅghayorme patiśchinnaḥ krakaceneva pādapaḥ |
hā hā hatāsmi dagdhāsmi mṛtāsmyupahatāsmi ca || 44 ||

It has severed his thighs as they dissever a tree with a saw, and has lopped off his legs like the stalks of trees.
