Consisting of 18 books, the Mahabharata details the history and legends concerning ancient India (Bharata), including a major battle campaign involving the Kauravas and the Pandavas, also known as the Kurukshetra War. मुखस्य वर्णो न विकल्पतेऽस्य चेलुश्च गात्राणि न चापि तस्य ।
सिंहोन्नतं चाप्यभिगर्जतोऽस्य शुश्राव लोकोऽद्भुतरूपमग्र्यम् ॥ ६ ॥
