Consisting of 18 books, the Mahabharata details the history and legends concerning ancient India (Bharata), including a major battle campaign involving the Kauravas and the Pandavas, also known as the Kurukshetra War. तदिन्द्रः सुरभीवाक्यं निशम्य भृशविस्मितः ।
जीवितेनापि कौरव्य मेनेऽभ्यधिकमात्मजम् ॥ १७ ॥

tadindraḥ surabhīvākyaṃ niśamya bhṛśavismitaḥ |
