Consisting of 18 books, the Mahabharata details the history and legends concerning ancient India (Bharata), including a major battle campaign involving the Kauravas and the Pandavas, also known as the Kurukshetra War. शिरःस्नातश्च तैलेन नाङ्गं किंचिदुपस्पृशेत् ।
तिलपिष्टं न चाश्नीयात्तथायुर्विन्दते महत् ॥ ३७ ॥

śiraḥsnātaśca tailena nāṅgaṃ kiṃcidupaspṛśet |
tilapiṣṭaṃ na cāśnīyāttathāyurvindate mahat || 37 ||
