Consisting of 18 books, the Mahabharata details the history and legends concerning ancient India (Bharata), including a major battle campaign involving the Kauravas and the Pandavas, also known as the Kurukshetra War. शिष्टं दान्तं कृतज्ञं च प्रियं च सततं मम ।
न मे विक्रोशतो राजन्हर्तुमर्हसि कुञ्जरम् ॥ १० ॥

śiṣṭaṃ dāntaṃ kṛtajñaṃ ca priyaṃ ca satataṃ mama |
na me vikrośato rājanhartumarhasi kuñjaram || 10 ||
