Consisting of 18 books, the Mahabharata details the history and legends concerning ancient India (Bharata), including a major battle campaign involving the Kauravas and the Pandavas, also known as the Kurukshetra War. तमेते प्रतिनन्दन्ति सिद्धाः सैन्याश्च विस्मिताः ।
अजय्यं समरे दृष्ट्वा साधु साध्विति सात्वतम् ।
योधाश्चोभयतः सर्वे कर्मभिः समपूजयन् ॥ १५९ ॥
