The Garga-samhita Verse 1.15.32, English translation, including word-by-word: This text represents a Vaishnava scripture which narrates the life Krishna, It was composed in seventeen cantos by Garga Muni: an ancient sage and priest of the Yadu dynasty having. This is verse 1 of Chapter 15 (Revelation of the Universal Form to Nanda’s Wife) of Canto 1 (goloka-khanda).

द्वापरान्ते कलेर् आदौ
बालो ऽयं कृष्णतां गतः
तस्मात् कृष्ण इति ख्यातो
नाम्नायं नन्द-नन्दनः

dvāparānte kaler ādau
bālo 'yaṃ kṛṣṇatāṃ gataḥ
tasmāt kṛṣṇa iti khyāto
nāmnāyaṃ nanda-nandanaḥ

dvāparaof the Dvāpara-yuga; ante—at the end; kaleḥof Kali-yuga; ādau—atb the beginning; bālaḥboy; ayamHe; kṛṣṇatām—a dark complexion; gataḥ—attained; tasmāt—therefore; kṛṣṇaḥKṛṣṇa; iti—thus; khyātaḥ—celebrated; nāmnā—by name; ayam—He; nandaof Nanda; nandanaḥ—the son.

English translation of verse 1.15.32:

Now, at the end of Dvāpara-yuga and the beginning of Kali-yuga, He has a dark (kṛṣṇa) complexion. For this reason He is named Kṛṣṇa. He is this boy, the son of Nanda.
