The Garga-samhita Verse 1.15.31, English translation, including word-by-word: This text represents a Vaishnava scripture which narrates the life Krishna, It was composed in seventeen cantos by Garga Muni: an ancient sage and priest of the Yadu dynasty having. This is verse 1 of Chapter 15 (Revelation of the Universal Form to Nanda’s Wife) of Canto 1 (goloka-khanda).

Sanskrit text, transliteration and word-by-word meaning:

परिपूर्णतमे साक्षात्
तेन कृष्णः प्रकीर्तितः
शुक्लो रक्तस् तथा पीतो
वर्णो ऽस्यानु-युगं धृतः

paripūrṇatame sākṣāt
tena kṛṣṇaḥ prakīrtitaḥ
śuklo raktas tathā pīto
varṇo 'syānu-yugaṃ dhṛtaḥ

paripūrṇatame—the Supreme Personality of Godhead; sākṣātdirectly; tena—by this; kṛṣṇaḥKṛṣṇa; prakīrtitaḥis said; śuklaḥwhite; raktaḥred; tathā—so; pītaḥyellow; varṇaḥcolor; asyaof Him; anu—following; yugam—the yugas; dhṛtaḥ—held.

English translation of verse 1.15.31:

In this way the Supreme Personality of Godhead is known as Kṛṣṇaḥ. In white, red, and yellow forms He appears in the yugas one after another.
