yāḥ sirāścaturddhā uktāḥ-prāṅkṣirdiṣṭā vātapittakaphajuṣṭaśuddharaktavāhinyaḥ saptasaṅkhyāḥ, kṛtsnaṃ-aśeṣaṃ, śarīraṃ tarpayanti prīṇayanti, tā marmāṇyāśritāḥ-gatāḥ prāptāḥ| tatkṣatādityādi| yata evaṃ sarvāḥ sirā marmāṇi prāptāḥ, tataḥ kāraṇāt-marmāśrayalakṣaṇāt, tatkṣatātteṣāṃ marmaṇāṃ kṣataṃ tatkṣataṃ, tasmānmarmakṣatātkāraṇāt, kṣatajasya-raktasya, atipravṛttiḥ| tasmātkṣatajātyarthapravṛtteḥ kāraṇāt, yo dhātusaṅkṣayaḥ-paramparākramāyāto māṃsādidhātvapacayaḥ, tasmin dhātukṣaye sati yo vṛddhaścalovāyuḥ, sa tīvrāḥ-atyantaduḥkhadāyinīḥ, rujaḥ-śūlaviśeṣān, pratanoti-karoti| kiṃ kurvan? tejaḥ-pittaṃ, samīrayanudīrayan vṛddhiṃ nayan, tat-tejaḥ, uddhṛtaṃ-bṛhatsampannaṃ, tṛṣṇādīn dhattekaroti| tataḥ-anantaraṃ tṛṣṇādibhyaḥ, enaṃ-puruṣaṃ marmaviddhaṃ, antako harati| kimbhūtam? svinnā srastā ślathā tanuryasya tam| tadayamarthaḥ,-marmābhighate raktavāhinīnāṃ sirāṇāṃ mukhavikāso jāyate| tadvikāsājjīvitādhiṣṭhānasyāsṛjo'tyarthaṃ yā niḥsṛtiryāvattasya kṣayaḥ, tatkṣayācca jīvitanāśaḥ, aśrayābhavāt|
