Śiṣṭi’s wife, Succhāyā gave birth to five sons, namely, Ripu, Ripuñjaya, Vipra, Vṛkala and Vṛkatejas. The eldest of them Ripu was the father of the Manu, Cākṣuṣa. (Viṣṇu Purāṇa, Aṃśa 1, Chapter 13).
