This is the Sanskrit Mahavastu: a lengthy work on Buddhist teachings and narratives belonging to the school of early Buddhism (Mahasanghika). This edition only includes those metrical verses occuring in the various stories and Jatakas, as well as the corresponding English translation by J. J. Jones.

Verse 64.401

श्रेष्ठिकुलेषु आढ्येषु स्फीतेतु चोपपद्यति ।
अतिदानपतिः शूरो मुक्तात्यागो अमत्सरी ॥ ४०१ ॥

śreṣṭhikuleṣu āḍhyeṣu sphītetu copapadyati |
atidānapatiḥ śūro muktātyāgo amatsarī || 401 ||

He is reborn in wealthy and prosperous merchants’ families. He becomes most charitable, brave, freely generous, and not miserly. (401)
