This is the Sanskrit Mahavastu: a lengthy work on Buddhist teachings and narratives belonging to the school of early Buddhism (Mahasanghika). This edition only includes those metrical verses occuring in the various stories and Jatakas, as well as the corresponding English translation by J. J. Jones.

Verse 64.356

शीलसंपन्नो यो भिक्षुः स आढ्यो ति प्रवुच्चति ।
न हि मुक्ताप्रवाडेहि भिक्षु भोति महाधनो ॥ ३५६ ॥

śīlasaṃpanno yo bhikṣuḥ sa āḍhyo ti pravuccati |
na hi muktāpravāḍehi bhikṣu bhoti mahādhano || 356 ||

The monk who is endowed with morality is accounted wealthy, for it is not on the score of pearls and corals that the monk becomes very rich. (356)
