This is the Sanskrit Mahavastu: a lengthy work on Buddhist teachings and narratives belonging to the school of early Buddhism (Mahasanghika). This edition only includes those metrical verses occuring in the various stories and Jatakas, as well as the corresponding English translation by J. J. Jones.

Verse 64.158

अच्छिद्रशिलो पुरिमभवे अभूषि क्षान्ती-उपेतो सद अप्रमत्तो ।
शोधेत्व मार्गं विविधं अनन्तं सो अद्य लप्स्यं वर-अग्रबोधिं ॥ १५८ ॥

acchidraśilo purimabhave abhūṣi kṣāntī-upeto sada apramatto |
śodhetva mārgaṃ vividhaṃ anantaṃ so adya lapsyaṃ vara-agrabodhiṃ || 158 ||

“In former lives I was of flawless virtue and endowed with calm, ever alert, making clean the manifold endless Way, and to-day I will win the noble supreme enlightenment (158)
